Comments: Moonlight illuminates the dramatic eastern escarpment of the Sierra Nevada mountain range west of the town of Lone Pine. The prominent peak left of center is Lone Pine Peak at 12,945ft in elevation while the 14,000ft crest
of the Sierra is dominated by 14,494ft Mt. Whitney(just right of center), the highest point in the 48 contiguous United States.
