Comments: Ranging in elevation from 10,800ft - 11,200ft, Pioneer Basin is one of the most spectacular lake basins in the Sierra Nevada.
In this image we can see Mars along with the stars of Sagittarius and Scorpius shining overhead. The mighty Sierra surrounding the 13,000ft peaks of Mt. Mills, Mt. Abbot and Mt. Dade can be seen in the distance, 12 miles away. 12,304ft Mt. Hopkins is seen at far right.
