Comments: The dome of the 200" Hale telescope can be seen in the background. This site was used for astrophotography sessions between 1992 and 1995. Since 1995, the site has become unusable for any kind of serious astrophotography. Recent housing and city developments in nearby Temecula, Oceanside and Escondido have brightened the skies over Palomar Observatory to an almost unusable level.
