Comments: Desert Center is located halfway between Indio and Blythe, California at an elevation of 900ft in the lower Colorado desert of Southern California. This desert region is one of hottest and driest environments in North America with an average annual rainfall of less than 3 inches. During the summer months, temperatures commonly exceed 110F. Some areas of this region have actually gone 2 years without any measurable precipitation.
