Springtime in the Anza-Borrego desert means wildflowers. The beautiful Ocotillo blossoms seen here are just a hint of the beauty that lies dormant for most of the year.
The ocotillo can be regarded as the sentinel of the Anza-Borrego desert, just like the joshua tree is to the higher Mojave and the saguaro is to the Sonoran desert.
