Note the ragged "eye" of the Nor'easter just south of Cape Cod & the Islands

Sunday February 12th

The first major snow storm of the 2005/2006 winter season ended up turning into a blizzard which impacted all of Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard as well as most all of southern New England down to NYC. NYC ended up recording 26.9" at Central Park, a new all time record for the city!

Snowfall here in Dennis ended up around 13" as of 8pm EST. The highest wind gust on the Cape that I could find was 53mph at Otis ANGB and also on The Vineyard. This storm was certainly not in the same league as the historic January 2005 blizzard that dump over 30" on Cape Cod, but it was still a nasty Nor'easter! Click here to see how similar this storm's track and eye position was to the historic 2005 system.

Below are just a few photos taken out the front of the house. At least this time you can still see the car and truck! :-)
